I am Flannel Flower. I bring you softness, openness and the courage to be touched by life again. I come to you when the conditions of your life have been harsh and you have closed in on yourself for protection. I hold you gently there, and when you are ready I help you feel safe to open once more.

I invite you to touch and to be touched. Feel how soft I am. Where the pleasure of touch and of feeling has been lost, or has not been known in a healthy way, I help you welcome it back. If you have been stung or burnt by life, or find yourself irritated by the little things and sensitive to every word, I ask you to slow down and let my softness soothe you.

I grow in dry, sandy ground under a fierce sun, and still I turn my face to the light. I teach you to stay open when things get tough, to adapt as conditions change and to return to the flow of life. I restore your balance between movement and rest, between giving and receiving, between your inner world and your outer one.

I flourish in community. I remind you of the peace that comes from connecting to yourself, to each other and to nature, and of the grace that is present when people move together with gentleness.

I bring back joy and sunniness when they have been lost. I sit with you in grief. I am the hope of each new dawn and the silver lining on the cloud.

I also stand at the meeting place of worlds, opening your awareness to other dimensions while keeping your feet on the earth.
