Through skincare, plant wisdom and ceremony, we alchemise the offerings of the Earth with intention, love and reverence,
bringing together the wisdom of the plants, the elements and the land from which they come to create offerings that nurture body, mind and spirit.
The Story Behind Elements of Alchemy
Hi I'm Gabrielle Hawke and this is:
There was a time when I had become disconnected from the very thing that had always brought me alive. I was busy. I was running a shop in Yamba, supporting my husband in his business, raising two daughters and constantly preparing for the next thing. My days were filled with work, organising and responsibilities, and somewhere along the way I had stopped spending time outside. I was living life inside the shop and inside my home - inside my responsibilities, inside a world that kept me busy.
A little while after I had closed the shop and finally had a little more space in my life, I woke with the words “Living Room Woman.”
It stopped me in my tracks.
I realised that I had become that woman. A woman who had become so busy she had forgotten to be out in the world and connected to the living world around her.
And I remembered something I had always known as a child. I loved nature. I loved plants and flowers, birds and animals, the changing light, sunrises and sunsets. I loved taking photographs of the landscape. There had always been something about the natural world that made me feel alive.
So I vowed to find my way back.
I became involved in creating a large permaculture garden, and it was there, with my hands in the earth and surrounded by plants, that something unexpected began to happen. I started to experience the plants differently. I noticed messages, impressions and feelings arising as I worked with them. My senses seemed to become heightened. I began to see things in nature that I hadn't noticed before, and I started to wonder about the intelligence and awareness that exists within the natural world.
This became the beginning of a much deeper relationship with plants. Over the years I studied the Elements, Shamanic practices, Plant Communication and the Flower Codes. I learned to slow down and listen, not simply with my mind, but through my senses and my body. The plants became teachers in a very lived and personal way.
And somewhere along this journey, Elements of Alchemy was born. I had already begun making natural skincare,
but as my relationship with plants deepened, I began to see the products differently.
Skincare could be more than something we put on our bodies. It could become a moment of connection.
A moment to pause. To breathe. To listen. To come back to ourselves.
This became the heart of Elements of Alchemy — Skincare for the Soul.
I began weaving plant essences, essential oils, macerated oils and natural ingredients together with intention,
Creating small batches of skincare that hold another layer of meaning.
Each product is created as an invitation to connect with a particular quality or medicine — whether that is
Earth Love, Self Love, Strength & Courage, Spiritual Protection, Grief Support or Transition
Or any of the other beautiful supportive themes that each Flower Code is there to support us in.
My work with plants has taught me that the natural world has much to show us when we are willing to slow down enough to listen.
A plant doesn't ask us to become something we are not.
It simply grows according to its own nature.
And perhaps that is one of the greatest lessons nature has given me —
the invitation to return to our own nature, to uncover the layers that have accumulated around us
and remember something of who we were before the world told us who we should be.
Today, that is what I hope Elements of Alchemy offers.
Not simply skincare, but a small ritual of returning.
A way to care for the body while also creating space for the mind, the spirit and our connection with the natural world.
Because I believe we are not separate from nature. We are nature.
And when we begin to remember that, the magic returns and something within us begins to come alive again.

Australian Seabird & Turtle Rescue Hospital
Giving Back
A percentage of our sales go towards the Australian Seabird & Turtle Rescue Hospital in Ballina. These are the guys who came and put in protection measures to the turtle nest that a friend and I found had just been laid by a loggerhead some years back. Their volunteers do an amazing job – they rescue andrehabilitate seabirds, shorebirds, sea turtles and sea snakes.
